The 9th Fajr Int’l Festival of Visual Arts is to review artworks from Spain and Brazil.

Organizers of the 9th edition of the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts have announced that the event is to put a spotlight on artwork from Spain and Brazil.

The secretary of the festival, Mojtaba Aqaei, announced the news during a press conference held at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on Monday.

Aqaei said that the festival is slated to open an exhibition of artworks from the two countries to go on from January 22 to February 18.

The secretary added that about 13,000 artworks by artists from 47 countries have so far been submitted to the secretariat in order for the artists to attend the festival.

“The selecting board has chosen a collection of 125 works to compete and go on display in the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art,” he noted.

He further stated that Tehran’s Niavaran Cultural Center is set to host both international and national sections of the event.

“A seminar titled ‘Reading Art’ is also arranged on the sidelines of the festival this year, while the film screening section is removed,” he concluded.
